I found the lump myself during a self breast exam. I had no history of breast cancer in my family. I was 38 years old.

Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects:

Had a modified radical mastectomy to my left breast June 29th, 2007 with delayed reconstruction. Need to wait until after radiation.

Radiation Description, Dates & Side Effects:

Finished radiation Friday, September 21st, 2007! Skin is burned, sensitive, and very sore.

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects:

I took the course of having chemotherapy prior to surgery. I will not really know the true stage of my cancer.

Hormone Therapy Description, Dates & Side Effects:

Tamoxifen – Hot flashes every 1/2 hour.

Why are we all wearing Pittsburgh jerseys when we live in Ohio? My husband and girls are HUGE Steelers fans and my husband also grew up during his childhood in Pittsburgh. Wishing you all health and wellness in the new year and a Merry Christmas!
